Ingredients
5 Lbs Potatoes (Peeled and Diced)
2 Cups Whole Milk
300 G Butter
2 Finely Diced Carrots
2 Finely Diced Stalks of Celery
2 Chopped Tomatoes
1 Cup Chopped Onions
1 Cup Fresh Herbs
2 Minced Garlic Cloves
1 Tbsp Tomato Paste
3 Cups Minced Lamb
2 Cups Grated Cheddar Cheese
Salt and Pepper to Taste
Method
1. Heat oven to 190 degrees Celsius or 375 degrees Fahrenheit
2. Boil the potatoes until cooked and strain water. Return to heat
3. Add milk and butter and mash to a smooth consistency. Salt and pepper to taste
4. In a large pan, sauté onions, garlic and fresh herbs
5. Add ground lamb and sauté until meat is cooked, stirring occasionally
6. Add vegetables and season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook for an additional 10 minutes
7. In a baking dish, place half of the creamed potato mixture. Lay meat sauce and cover with remaining potato mixture
8. Sprinkle grated cheese on top and bake for 30 minutes or until the surface is brown
9. Serve Hot
